STUDENT MINISTRY

There are wonderful volunteer ministry leaders in every specific student ministry. We applaud their dedication and leadership! Brian Maxwell and Tim Gilman are giving leadership to this area.

Mission: The student ministry at Bethel exists to share God’s truth with Junior and Senior High students, to connect them with other believers, to root and disciple them in Christian faith, to involve them in service for Christ and to catch the vision of God’s purpose for their life.

Student ministry at Bethel targets 6-12 grade students from several schools in and around the city of Bellflower. Alpha Teens, our Junior High (grades 7-8) meets in large groups on Thursday nights from 7:00-8:30 and reaches non-Christians and Christians. The Sunday morning class is a smaller group of Christians being discipled. TNL, our Senior High (grades 9-12) meets in large groups on Tuesday nights from 7:14-8:30 and also reaches non-Christians and Christians. Their Sunday morning group targets Christians and focuses on discipleship and reaching out in ministry to their world. Both have major events throughout the year with various purposes of evangelism, fellowship and discipleship.

Senior High - T.N.L. (Tuesday Night Live)
Staff - Tim Gilman, volunteer Director of Senior High Ministries
Volunteer Leadership Team: Jamie Gilman; Brett & Julie Pool; Larry Herrington; Jill Sawaya; Jennifer Christofferson
Mission: TNL exists to reach non-believing high school students, to connect them with other Christians, to help them experience faith, and to challenge the growing to discover their ministry and fully devote their life to God.

TNL invites high school-aged kids to our Tuesday night youth group program and Sunday school. The Tuesday night program reaches to non-Christians and Christians alike and is focused primarily around fellowship, with some aspect of discipleship. We have special outings once a month such as broom hockey, cosmic bowling, paint ball and of course the winter and summer retreats. Sunday morning Sunday school targets Christians and focuses on discipleship and ministry.

Junior High - Alpha Teens
Staff: Brian Maxwell, Director of Junior High Ministries
Volunteer Leadership Team: Cheri Maxwell, Steve Knapp, Sheena Hills, and Samantha Lowry, who are all awesome leaders!! I couldn't do Alpha Teens without them!
Mission: Alpha Teens exists to reach out to 7th & 8th graders with the love of Christ; to teach them the fundamentals of Christianity; to bring out their God-given leadership qualities; and to help them build a meaningful life-long relationship with Christ Jesus.

Alpha Teens is directed to reach Jr. High Students on Thursday nights and Sunday School. We get saved and unsaved kids. Our first goal is to gain trust and friendship so we can teach basic, and a little deeper, truths of the Bible. We also have fun activities and games for them to do.
